He's one of the club's favourites and now Scott Hammond has committed to Pershore for the forthcoming season.

Hammond, who joined Pershore Town during Janes first stint at the Football Club, has featured just shy of ninety times now for The Plums over the last three seasons.

Having joined the club during the 2021/22 Season from Midland Football League Premier Division side, Racing Club Warwick, Scott scored four goals in fourteen games as The Plums lifted a Cup treble.

With seven goals in thirty-eight games the following season, it was an injury that would cut short Hammond's season as the club went on to complete a Hellenic League double.

A further four goals in thirty-six games last campaign, Scott has cemented himself as a firm favourite around the club with an infectious positive attitude.

Having featured for the club in a number of positions, some less familiar than others, Scott is an important addition to Janes' Pershore Town squad.

"Scott joined us during our first spell in charge of the Club and was fantastic for us, he created history for the club scoring the winning penalty against Worcester City in the Worcestershire Senior Cup." said Janes.

"Scott stayed with us for the title winning season, we have enjoyed some great memories together.

"He is a versatile player who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger on either side of the pitch.

"1 v 1 he is dangerous with his ability to shift the ball in either direction and to get shots away at goal.

"He has a habit of scoring goals at key times and his ability to do this will be invaluable for us.

"Scott is a very popular member of the playing squad and he brings so much value in terms of the environment we want to create.

"I know the Club will be very happy he has committed for another season and I look forward to seeing him in action."

Hammond said the decision to stay at Pershore Town this season was an easy one, it's a club he's felt most at home at.

"I'm absolutely delighted to be asked to stay at Pershore Town for the forthcoming season following DJ's return." said Hammond.

"It's a club I've probably felt more at home at than any other with regards to my football over the last few years.

"The club's unbelievable and the people behind it are brilliant. Hopefully what we achieve this season can go someway to rewarding those individuals.

"It's another really impressive squad put together, plenty of competition for us all to thrive off.

"The targets are set, we'll not hide behind those targets, I'm looking forward to just getting the ball rolling with the 'proper' football now."
