Following on from Thursday evening's 2 - 0 win over Kidlington Reserves away from home, The Plums will today travel to Bourton Rovers for a Division One fixture for the first of six remaining league fixtures.
Jordan Adams and Levi Steele had given The Plums three points on Thursday but in truth, the score should have been far greater but for some poor finishing and some unbelievable saves by the Kidlington goalkeeper.
Bourton Rovers are our hosts this afternoon, a team that are unbeaten in their last two league games with a 3 - 3 draw away to Milton United and a 3 - 2 home win over Long Crendon.
Jordan Mitchell scored in both games for Rovers and he remains Bourton's top goalscorer with twelve in thirty-three games, meanwhile Danny Way also backs up the scoring with twelve in thirty-three games.
Danny Way will likely wear the armband for Bourton and has been around the club for a number of years. A highly influential figure who offers fantastic work-rate and technical ability, he'll be one that Danny Janes will want to keep quiet.
Luke Walsh and George Callinan are two others that have tended to be ever present for Bourton's teams this season. George previously of Longlevens and more recently, Stonehouse Town.
As for The Plums, Danny Janes' side are on a seven game winning run in the Hellenic League whilst only a Cup Final defeat to Mangotsfield is a blot on the record in the last thirteen games.
Janes is still without top goalscorer Aidan Clark but will welcome back Danny Murphy ahead of this afternoons game. Levi Steele scored on Thursday, and should've had many more, to take his record to four goals in four games since signing from North Leigh.
The Plums have the second best defence in the league, Kirk Layton, Jordan Adams and Matt Nutt are at the heart of that alongside Eddie Cox in goal.
Pershore are so close to a league title, touching distance that adds countless pressure whilst Bourton Rovers will see today as a free hit and a chance to make a statement. For Danny Janes' side, they'll be in for a challenging afternoon and it'll be whether they can meet the standards required to come through that challenge.
"Another difficult game against a side who will no doubt raise their game against us." said Janes.
"There is no pressure on Bourton and they will see the game as a free hit.
"We need to be a lot better in the final third than we were against Kidlington.
"Bourton picked up a great result against Milton and came from behind to draw the game, so we know they aren’t going to go away easily.
"We are looking forward to the game and the players know they have to maximise every minute of every game."
