The Plums are back in action with a short trip to Bromsgrove for a Quarter Final tie in the Worcestershire Senior Cup.

After a weekend break, Danny Janes' side return to action with a mammoth task against Bromsgrove Sporting in the Quarter Final of this year's Worcestershire Senior Cup.

Sporting, who faced a long trip to Leiston on Saturday whilst The Plums rested, head into tonight's game with an interim Manager following the resignation of Paul Smith and Assistant, John Snape.

Smith and Snape's departure was following a much improved performance on Saturday where the Rouslers returned from Suffolk with a 0 - 0 draw.

The hosts sit second from bottom in the Southern League Premier Division Central, Step Three of the Non-League system, whilst Janes' Pershore Town are two leagues below Bromsgrove.

Bromsgrove Sporting dispatched of Droitwich Spa in the previous round of the Worcestershire Senior Cup to book their place in this Quarter Final, the game played at the beginning of October was The Rouslers last victory. Theo Robinson opened the scoring in that game whilst Kieran Cook and Shaquille Leachman-Whittingham scored late on to wrap up a 3 - 1 win at Kingy's.

Scott Adey-Linforth will lead the Bromsgrove charges tomorrow under the lights at the Victoria Ground, Scott steps in as Interim Manager having been First Team Coach under Paul Smith.

Scott, a UEFA A License Coach, joined Sporting having coached at Stourbridge last season whilst continuing his role as a full-time performance analyst at Aston Villa.

Skipper, Luke Rowe, will likely be partnered by Reece King in midfield for our hosts, both are impressive midfielders who will look to control proceedings this evening and Janes' side will need to ensure they are unable to get on top of the game.

Theo Robinson, formerly of Huddersfield Town, Derby County and Doncaster Rovers will be expected to lead the line for the Rouslers. Now 35, Robinson has had an impressive career in the game and his experience will be vital to Bromsgrove climbing the league table.

Aaron Roberts will be expected to lead the backline for Bromsgrove, the former Worcester City defender returned to Bromsgrove in 2023 and has returned to being a favourite the the Victoria Ground.

Roberts featured in a Worcester City side that Danny Janes' Pershore Town side beat in the final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup at the Victoria Ground back in April 2022.

It was one of five trophies won by Janes' Pershore in his first spell but The Plums failed to start his second spell as was hoped. That said, form recently has picked up and they'll be hope there could be another special night under the lights for Pershore Town.

The Plums have won five of their last seven games in all competitions, that includes a professional 3 - 1 win away to Bewdley Town in the previous round of the Worcestershire Senior Cup.

Twelve goals in the last two games, before a break, was a welcome sign for Pershore Town fans who have begun to see a team come together over the last few weeks.

James Baldwin leads the scoring charts for Danny Janes' side, the frontman has nine goals in his twenty-one appearances this season. Baldwin is backed up with Aidan Clark and Bailey Fuller who each have seven goals so far this campaign.

Harlie Price has found the back of the net on four occasions whilst Ben Tilbury has found his scoring boots of late scoring four goals in three games.

Bailey Fuller and Jack Cresswell are likely to both return to the squad having missed the 7 - 1 demolition of Malmesbury Victoria whilst they'll be hope Sean Cooke has recovered in time from injury having gone off in the first half against The Vics.

Sacha Everard and Luke Carsley have built a strong partnership at the heart of Pershore's defence, The Plums having only conceded two in their last three games.

One thing that is a given, Pershore will head into tomorrow evening's game with not many giving Danny Janes' side much hope of a result - but then we've been in that situation a few times before haven't we?

"The game presents us with a monumental task to try and overcome an established Step 3 side." said Janes.

"With the managerial change I have no doubt the Bromsgrove players will want to impress and secure their place at the club, they will not want to slip up against opposition two leagues beneath them.

"In terms of ourselves, we are going there to win the game.

"I am not a manager who will hide behind the difference in levels and just state I am happy to compete, we want to take the game to Bromsgrove.

"We know that if we are not at the level then we will be in real trouble, but if we have enough players at their best, I back this team to deliver."
