In the first of a two-legged Floodlit Cup Final, it's a trip to Mangotsfield tomorrow evening for Danny Janes' side.

The Mangos will prove to be a very tough task for Danny Janes' side to try and overcome in the first leg of the Floodlit Cup final; a win over current Hellenic League Premier Division leaders Malvern Town saw Mangotsfield progress.

Wantage Town, Royal Wootten Bassett Town and FC Stratford have all fallen victim to The Mangos on their cup run.

A club steeped in history, you've only got to go back fifth-teen years where you'd have found Mangotsfield United playing in the Southern League Premier Division, Step 3 of the Non-League pyramid.

The 2021/22 season The Mangos were Step 4, finishing second from bottom meant they were relegated into the Hellenic League.

After a difficult start to life at Step 5, they've turned a corner and picked up some impressive results which now has the club sat comfortably around mid-table.

Jaydn Crosbie will be the one to watch, the striker has sixteen goals to his name already this season from twenty six appearances.

As for The Plums, Danny Janes' side will come into this one as underdogs once more against a higher ranked side, something they've done numerous times since the young manager took over.

Pershore beat Longlevens in the Semi Final of the competition whilst previously to that there were wins over Calne Town, Roman Glass St George and Moreton Rangers.

The First Leg is the first of four cup fixtures in their next five games for Danny Janes' side, a distraction from the league whereby The Plums remain top of Hellenic League Division One.

"We are looking forward to the game in what is our first Cup Final of the season and a very unique one in terms of having to play two legs." said Janes.

"The mind-set is really simple for us, we are aiming to win both games.

"Mangotsfield have picked up some excellent results this season, their Semi-Final win at Malvern Town shows how strong they are.

"The game is going to be very difficult and we will be underdogs going into this one due to being ranked lower in the pyramid.

"The players will need to be right at it from the start if we are to go there and win the game."
