We are delighted to confirm that our Development Team will now fall under a similar banner to our Midland Floodlit Youth Team enabling a progressive pathway for current, future and previous players to progress with.
Mark Bowley and Valdo Gomez will be taking on a Co-Managers role for the Development Team whilst continuing within their roles of our Floodlit Team.
The dual roles will ensure there is close integration between the two sides as The Plums look to secure a progressive route for it's young players into open aged football.
Mike Bishop, who was recently appointed onto the Committee of Pershore Town Football Club as a Player Pathway Officer, was keen to see the Development Team and the Floodlit Team work closely together.
"With Adam stepping down, having done a brilliant both in both spells with the club, we suggested that a positive step forward would be to try and being the two sides closer together." said Mike.
"With Mark and Valdo stepping up to Co-Manage, then running our training sessions as one group, we feel like we can do that.
"There is no getting away from the fact the Development Team has been a little up and down over the last twelve months, but there is some really good players still around that side.
"We're hopeful that the injection of Youth, who are hungry to learn and develop into the Senior game, can help to bring a bit more stability to the existing group.
"With a Floodlit Team and our Under 17 MJPL side, we are in a great place for Under 18's Football at Pershore Town. We have plenty of players with huge potential to progress through the pathway that is now being provided at this Football Club.
"Our aim now is to provide opportunities for current, past and future Under 18's to continue their development in a stable, and competitive, environment."
The Football Club would like to wish Mark, Valdo and Mike the best of luck as the two sides work closely together moving forwards.
