Danny Janes' side came into Saturday's game on the back of a heavy defeat away to Bromsgrove Sporting on Tuesday evening in the Worcestershire Senior Cup, knowing full well that a response was needed.
For the hosts, Cirencester Town, they themselves had also lost in midweek in County Cup action against Longlevens but were in good form in the league having won three of their last four Hellenic League fixtures.
A cagey opening half, in which Pershore probably shaded in possession stats, remained goalless at half time with neither side really testing the keepers on a regular basis.
Whilst The Plums had numerous chances in the second half to break the deadlock, it took a wonderful strike from around twenty-yards out from Steve Webb to hand Pershore the lead.
It could've told a much different picture however just moments prior with the Cirencester striker racing through one vs one against Scott Loader but the returning Loader made a fantastic save to keep the scores level.
Shortly after 'Webby' had opened the scoring, Aidan Clark doubled the lead and took all hope away from the hosts of getting anything out of the game. Another fantastic finish after showing brilliant feet to beat his man and then firing home from distance.
On the balance of play, the win was deserved but The Plums will know they'll need to be much better in the final third in the coming weeks.
"It was important we bounced back from the disappointment of Tuesday night with three points and a clean sheet, the players delivered just that." said Janes.
"First half was frustrating as we dominated the game but were wasteful when we got into good areas, we lacked that final ball or finish. We spoke at half-time about playing with more intensity but also with patience so that we weren’t trying to force the play.
"Steve Webb hits a great one to give us that lead and I knew from there we would go on to win the game, we just needed to get in front. Aidan sealed the game with an unbelievable goal, he has been really patient as he hasn’t started the last few games so I am delighted for him, his attitude has been top draw.
"We can now look forward to the challenge of Corsham next Saturday as we look to keep putting points on the board.
"Thank you as always to the travelling support, they have been with us all season and they are very much appreciated."
