Starting us off on Saturday was Leanne Reynold's Under 7's who faced off against Lickhill Colts. The Mini Plums produced a fantastic performance in this one, showing brilliant teamwork and determination! Special shouts to Harry, who scored four, and Josh, who scored three, but also to Isaac who played his first full game in goal!
Andy Medler's Under 9's came into their game fresh off the back of an impressive performance last week. Unfortunately a D&W side just proved too strong for the young Plums on this occasion. Plenty more to work on for these youngsters who are still on a journey to learning just how strong the MJPL is.
Tim Brown's Under 10's were always going to be up against it at the weekend, taking on a team they've always struggled against in Drakes Broughton! An unbelievable performance and a goal from Oscar secured a result that certainly felt like a win for The Plums!
Tim Brown's Under 11's hosted Bredon on Saturday morning but failed to get out of the traps early on, giving themselves an uphill task in the second half. A much improved performance with passion, fight and work rate but Bredon will go home the happier of the two sides from this one. Ollie GD did help himself to three goals in the second half.
Jenna Lienerth's Under 12 Girls' backed up their first league win last weekend with another one this weekend! The Plums travelled away to take on Nunnery Wood at The KGV and ran out 2 - 1 winners in this one! A dominant display where the girls worked hard and got their rewards. Unfortunate not to keep a clean sheet with the hosts scoring with the last kick of the game. Summer Cropper and Caitlynn Price on the scoresheet for Pershore whilst Ellie Millington was voted Girl of the Game.
AJ Mountain's Under 13's had 'one of those games' as they hosted L&B. The Plums missing a penalty and a number of chances whilst the visitors weren't going to feel sorry for the hosts. L&B running out 4 - 0 winners by full time in this one.
Jon Dean's Under 13 Bullets' ran out 5 - 4 winners over Tewkesbury Colts in a game that had it all! The Plums raced into a 4 - 1 lead in the first half but Tewkesbury produced an unbelievable come-back to level the scores at 4 - 4. With just minutes to go it was Pershore that found the winner through Michael to secure a 5 - 4 win.
Jason Neville's Under 14 Bullets' fell to defeat on the back pitch at the Recruit 12 Community Stadium. The Plums took the lead in the game through Anthony Neville and looked like they may go further ahead with Ryan Reeve causing problems down the left for the away side. It wasn't to be and Welland made Pershore pay by levelling the score just prior to half time. Whilst The Plums huffed and puffed in the second half, it was Welland that took the lead through a corner and secured the win.
AJ Mountain's Under 14 Girls' ran riot against Droitwich Spa on Saturday morning! A strong, dominant performance where most of the Football was played in Droitwich's half saw The Plums run out 11 - 0 winners! Grace Mountain scored five, Rhianna got two whilst Elly Mountain, Daisy Newitt, Jazzy Beard and Esther Cooke were also in the goals in this one.
Steve Barker's Under 15's defeated Welland 5 - 1 away from home.
Stuart Townsend's Under 16's secured a 4 - 3 win away from home on Saturday morning in a back and forth game against GVR Chalford. The Plums raced into a 2 - 0 lead before the hosts replied with two for themselves before half time. Pershore then fell behind in the second half before an equaliser and then a late winner to secure three points. Alex Niesel again in the goals, scoring twice, whilst Matthew Collins and Josh Whittall-Smith also got on the scoresheet.
Jay Morgan's Under 17's travelled away to Cadbury on Saturday to take on their Under 18's. A game of missed chances for The Plums in this one, could've and should've been a very comfortable win but at 1 - 0 it left the door open for the hosts to equalise, and they did. Points shared in this one, Pershore's goal coming through man of the match Szymon Mrozrek.
Onto Sunday and Wayne Lomax's Under 16's fell to defeat at home to Cinderford despite taking the lead in the game. The away side found their way back into the game and lead the way 2 - 1 by half time. Cinderford finding the back of the net twice more in the second half to secure a 4 - 1 win, Dion Cartwright on the scoresheet for Pershore.
Stuart Townsend's Under 16's were away again on Sunday, this time travelling to Bishop's Cleeve. Just like Saturday, The Plums found themselves 2 - 0 ahead with Alex Niesel again scoring twice. Cleeve did pull one back just before half time and then added their second on the break in the second half for a share of the spoils. Missed chances cost The Plums in this one, aswell as a missed penalty opportunity.
Lastly, James Moreton's Sunday Team just cannot stop winning! They travelled away to a strong Alcester Town team but dispatched of them comfortably with a 5 - 1 win. Scott Loader continued his fine form with two goals with Kian Collins, Lewis Bennett and Kyle Ballard also on the scoresheet. The Plums sitting pretty at the top of the table with a game in hand over Offenham Rovers.
