Starting us off this week is Leanne Reynold's Under 7's who took on West Worcester on Saturday morning. It took a fantastic performance from the whole side to secure a positive result against a side they've always gone close against. The Plums learning each week and with a high press on Saturday morning, they limited West Worcester to minimal chances.
Tory Hall's Under 8's took on Bidford-on-Avon on Saturday morning and despite the bare minimum of five players available The Plums worked hard to secure a positive result with Pershore's keeper even getting on the scoresheet. It was the performance of the season for our little youngsters with Luca and Joey both scoring twice and Thomas getting the other goal.
Grace Harker's Under 12 Girls' ran out comfortable 3 - 0 winners over Crowle. Georgie-Mai, Ava and Summer all getting on the scoresheet whilst there was a clean sheet at the other end. Girl of the game went the way of Edie this week.
Jon Dean's Under 13 Bullets' travelled over to Tysoe in search of three points to add to their season's total and they did just that with a 4 - 2 win over their hosts. Jude struck twice in the first half along with Edward giving The Plums the perfect platform to build on. Edward doubled his tally in the second half to ensure all three points returned to Pershore.
Rich Morley's Under 14's fell to defeat away at Tipton Town in the MJPL. The Plums took the lead in the game and seemed to be in control until the hosts pegged them back with an effort from distance. At 1 - 1 the second half was a cagey affair but the hosts, Tipton Town, scored the winner with five minutes left to secure the win.
Jason Neville's Under 14 Bullets' suffered a narrow 1 - 0 defeat away to Catshill. Catshill took the lead in the first half and Pershore were unable to peg them back. A local derby up next for The Plums against Evesham United, Pershore looking to turn around their form against their rivals.
Steve Barker's Under 15's produced a composed performance, dominating large periods of the game as they secured a 4 - 0 win over Archdales. Theo struck twice whilst George and Mikey also got on the scoresheet in this one.
Wayne Lomax's Under 16's took on Warndon Villages Under 17's in a friendly on the back pitch at the Recruit 12 Community Stadium. Warndon sit top of the Under 17's Ambassador League Table but The Plums put them to the sword in a comfortable 5 - 1 victory. Will Knowles scored twice with Sean Allen, Dion Cartwright and Adam Lippett also getting on the scoresheet in this one.
Stuart Townsend's Under 16's fell to a 3 - 1 defeat away to second placed Abbeymead Rovers on Saturday in the Severn Valley Youth League for their final league fixture. The defeat leaves Pershore second from bottom in Group B but six points clear of bottom-placed Welland.
Jay Morgan's Under 17's lost 3 - 1 to Rugby Borough Under 18's in a fairly even game. Charlie Shore-Nye had given Pershore the lead in the game but Rugby Borough battled back to secure the three points.
Onto Sunday and Wayne Lomax's Under 16's took on Prestbury Phantoms in an ill tempered affair. Ethan Lomax gave The Plums the lead in the first half but Pershore were guilty of passing up a number of chances. Sean Allen doubled the advantage in the second half before Morley Westwood then made the game very safe. Prestbury finished the game with nine players, two shown red cards as The Plums secured the 3 - 0 win in the Cheltenham Youth League.
James Moreton's Sunday Team progressed into the Semi Final of the Mick Godwin Cup with an emphatic 13 - 0 win over Bidford Hurricanes. The Plums were always favourites heading into this one with Bidford sat second bottom in Division Three but they completed their mornings work in comfortable fashion. Kyle Ballard got four, Ben Solomon struck twice whilst Kian Collins, Neil Taylor, Tom Kelsall, Scott Loader and Tyler Yarnold also clocked up a goal. It looks like The Plums will now host Bretforton Old Boys for a place in the Final.
