This Saturday's league fixture, against Cirencester Town, will be 'Webby's' 557th competitive game for Pershore Town Football Club.
Whilst they'll be hope of adding two more appearances to his list, in the Challenge Cup Semi Final and potential Final, 'Mr Pershore Town' has signalled his intention ahead of what will be his final league fixture for The Plums.
The former Aston Villa Academy player has now featured for Pershore Town across sixteen league campaigns, representing thirteen different managers over that period.
"I've absolutely loved my time at Pershore Town and although I feel that I can still contribute to the team and could continue playing, now feels like the right time to stop." said Steve.
"I've played over 550 games for the club, been here for a very long time, won promotion and various cups and have some great memories, in particular captaining the team to three trophies a couple of years ago under DJ and Tom.
"There will be lots of things that I'll miss, especially the changing room banter. I've made some great friendships along the way and I want to thank all the players I've played with (there's been lots!).
"I also want to thank all of the managers/management teams that I've played under, the supporters who come out to watch us every week and the volunteers that help run the club, past and present, for everything they've done over the years.
"I also want to say thank you to everyone at Malvern Town for the season I had there.
"Finally, I want to say a big thank you to my family and wife for all of their support, travelling all over to watch me play and for their understanding with football taking up so much of my time!
"Hopefully the season isn't over just yet and we can get to one more cup final and finish with another trophy!"
Danny Janes has played with, managed and even been one of many managers over the years to try and convince Steve to leave Pershore Town and play his football elsewhere.
"Steve has decided to draw a close to what has been an unbelievable football journey." said Janes.
"I have had the pleasure to play in the same team as Steve as well as to manage him. They don't make players of his ilk anymore in the game. His approach, his mind-set, his loyalty and his passion are not elements I see very often.
"Steve has been a fantastic servant to Pershore, he has achieved so much as a player. To play for so many managers at one club shows the quality he has, every manager has clearly thought very highly of him which is why he has played in each of those teams.
"Steve leaves the club as a legend and no player will ever reach the heights he has for this club. He has been a pleasure to manage and I am so grateful for the levels he has reached for me and his contributions on and off the pitch.
"We have made life-long memories together which I will never forget."
Confirmation that Pershore Town will host a Steve Webb Testimonial, with further details to be released in the very near future.
